Brand Manager
Location: Remote (local to Prince George’s County preferred)
Duration: 6 months with an option to extend.
Time Commitment: Part-Time, up to 5 hours per week
Rate: $25/hr
Position Summary:
We are seeking a creative and motivated Brand Manager (BM) to join our marketing team. The BM will assist in managing and growing our digital presence across various platforms, creating engaging content, and analyzing performance metrics. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in social media management and digital marketing.
Who We Are:
Mel 'n Nem Farms is a sustainable learning farm in Bowie, MD. We provide various educational courses, classroom workshops, and community events to teach learners of all ages how to grow their own food. Our courses leverage ancient ancestral practices and modern technology to teach common-sense concepts in sustainable growing. We also provide on-site consultations, crop planning, and design services for community members who want to start their growing journey at home. What You’ll Do:
Content Creation:
Assist in developing, scheduling, and publishing content (text, images, videos) across social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, Twitter, LinkedIn).
Help design graphics, edit photos, and create short videos for social media posts.
Research and incorporate trending topics, hashtags, and best practices to engage our audience.
Track and report on social media performance metrics (e.g., likes, shares, comments, reach, engagement) using tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite, or native platform insights.
Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and execute social media campaigns.
Community Engagement:
Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and engage with the audience in a timely manner.
Assist in growing followers and increasing engagement rates on all platforms.
Who You Are:
The ideal candidate has:
2 - 5 years of experience in content creation, brand management, or digital marketing.
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Effective time management skills.
The ability to handle multiple short-term projects.
A team-oriented work style.
Strong understanding of social media platforms and their respective audiences.
Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creative thinker with a passion for social media and digital marketing.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) is preferred.
